Important information regarding the Wavefront acquisition
VMware announced on April 12, 2017 that it intends to acquire Wavefront, a leader in Cloud Application Monitoring for Enterprise and SaaS companies. Wavefront offers a real-time metrics monitoring and streaming analytics platform designed for developers to optimize their clouds and modern applications that rely on containers and microservices.
A cloud-hosted service, Wavefront offers Digital Enterprises the ability to send time-series (metric) data from anywhere in their data center, and to perform queries, render charts to see analytics, anomalies or KPI dashboards. Wavefront enables customers to harness real-time monitoring.
Wavefront’s metrics monitoring for cloud-native applications complements VMware vRealize Operations monitoring, capacity and performance management for virtual environments.
Following the closing, VMware will continue to offer and invest in Wavefront, which will be leveraged to accelerate VMware’s delivery of its cross-cloud services.
